RPD Best Attachments & Class Setups Black Ops Cold War

The RPD has the fastest movement and handling among the light machine guns in the game. It has the fastest ADS times because it is the lightest LMG. The recoil is quite low and kicks in a strange backward 7 pattern.

Its biggest downfalls are its slow reload times which we will correct in the attachments section.

The guide will also suggest the best class setups to run with the RPD below.

Weapon background

The RPD is a Call of Duty classic first appearing in COD with the release of COD 4 Modern Warfare. It has since appeared as different variants throughout the years such as the RPK.

Stats

  • Damage: 38
  • Rate of Fire: 652 RPM
  • Recoil: Moderate (vertical then horizontal)

Best Attachments

The best attachments for the RPD in Black Ops Cold War are the GRU Elastic Wrap, the Vandal Speed Loader, and the Infiltrator Grip under barrel. The GRU Elastic Wrap shaves 30% off your ADS times as well as other benefits. The Vandal Speed Loader speeds up your reload times by 40% and gives you max starting ammo. Finally, the Infiltrator Grip adds a balance of speed upgrades to give you back some of that lost speed from adding the other attachments.

We also recommend an optic to increase accuracy while taking shots at range.

Best Class Setups

Class 1 – Run and Gun

The run and gun gunsmith setup on the RPD is to provide added speed while keeping firepower.

Gunsmith:

  • Millstop Reflex
  • 16.5” Division
  • Infiltrator Grip
  • Vandal Speed Loader
  • GRU Elastic Grip

Class Setup

The class setup for the run and gun player maximizes equipment. Especially Flashbangs and C4. C4 is a rusher’s delight. Tak Mask and Ghost are also very important perks for people who want to play the objective.

  • Secondary: Hauer 77
  • Perk 1: Tac Mask
  • Perk 2: Gearhead
  • Perk 3: Ghost
  • Lethal: C4 x2
  • Tactical: Flashbang x2
  • Field Upgrade: Proximity Mine
  • Wildcard: Danger Close

Class 2 – All Out Accuracy

The all-out accuracy nearly totals out the accuracy of the weapon. It is much slower to use so best to stay at range and use this set up in the bigger game modes or maps.

Gunsmith:

  • Hangman RF
  • Spetsnaz Compensator
  • 20.3” Task Force
  • KGB Target Designator
  • Spetsnaz Speedgrip
  • Fast Mag
  • GRU Elastic Wrap
  • Spetsnaz PKM Stock

Class Setup

The remainder of the all-out accuracy class setup is geared to maximizing equipment and ammunition.

  • Secondary: Magnum
  • Perk 1: Flak Jacket
  • Perk 2: Quartermaster
  • Perk 3: Ghost
  • Lethal: Semtex
  • Tactical: Smoke Grenade
  • Field Upgrade: Assault Packs
  • Wildcard: Gunfighter

Class 3 – Balanced

The balanced RPD class is perfect for balancing out the weapon’s weak and strong points. Load the following attachments onto the weapon:

Gunsmith:

  • Millstop Reflex
  • 16.5” Division
  • Infiltrator Grip
  • Vandal Speed Loader
  • GRU Elastic Wrap

Class Setup

The class setup for this goes all out on the perks system. Flak Jacket and Tac Maks combined are perfect for players that love to play the objective. Ghost and Ninja keep you off enemy radars and out of their headsets πŸ™‚

  • Secondary: RPG-7
  • Perk 1: Flak Jacket / Tac Mask
  • Perk 2: Scavenger / Tracker
  • Perk 3: Ghost / Ninja
  • Lethal: Molotov
  • Tactical: Flashbang
  • Field Upgrade: Field Mic
  • Wildcard: Perk Greed
