The M16 is a burst fire tactical rifle in Black Ops Cold War. The weapon is revered for its high accuracy when aiming down sights. Players can get a one burst kill if all shots land.

As with all the tactical rifles, their biggest downfall is the ADS times and rate of fire. This doesn’t apply as much to the M16 because it fires three-round bursts. Nevertheless, we should try to maximize our fire rate and ADS times as much as we can.

This guide looks at the stats such as damage, rate of fire, and recoil/ accuracy. With this info, we give our picks for the best attachments and class setups to run on the M16.

Weapon background

The M16 has been in every Treyarch title except Black Ops 2. So Black Ops 2 is the only Black Ops game without the M16 to feature. We just discovered this while researching and found it interesting.

Stats

  • Damage: 50
  • Rate of Fire: 909 RPM
  • Recoil: Low

Best Attachments

The best attachments for the M16 in Cold War are the 16.4” Titanium Barrel, Serpent Wrap Handle, and an Optic of the player’s choice. The Titanium Barrel and Serpent Wrap gives the M16 super snappy ADS times including a 25% boost to fire rate. We highly recommend a scope on the M16. Using a scope will make sure you play the weapon in medium to long-range. That’s where the weapon excels.
