The QBZ-83 Assault Rifle is a fully automatic assault rifle in Black Ops Cold War. It pretty much has modest stats across the board.
The guide below takes you through the weapons stats such as damage, rate of fire, and accuracy. The guide also looks at the QBZ-83’s best attachments and why you should be prioritizing them over others. Finally, we suggest the best class setups for the QBZ.
Weapon background
The QBZ-83 has been in Call of Duty for a long time. However, it appeared under many aliases and variants. It was in MW3 as the Type 95, Black Ops 2 as the Type 25.
Stats(coming soon)
- Damage: 32
- Rate of Fire: 681 RPM
- Recoil: Moderate
QBZ 83 Cold War Best Attachments
The best attachments for the QBZ 83 in Cold War are the:
- Field Agent Grip
- Muzzle Brake 5.56
- Microflex LED
- 40 Round Drum
- Speed Tape
The first two attachments do a lot for the weapon’s vertical recoil. Adding extra firepower by changing the barrel really highers the recoil to insane amounts. Just try our third class below as proof.
In summary, be careful about playing around with the firepower because the recoil can get insane. As for the optic, this is mainly preference. However, we found the Microflex LED to be very clean. Similar to the G.I. Reflex in Modern Warfare.
Best Class Setups
Below are the best class setups to use on the QBZ-83. We have something to suit everyone’s playstyles.
Class 1 – MP5 Backup
This class setup utilities the weapon’s accuracy. It really does help with the QBZ’s initial recoil burst. Attach the following onto the weapon:
QBZ-83 Gunsmith:
- Microflex LED
- Muzzle Brake 5.56
- Field Agent Grip
- 40 Round Drum
- Speed Tape
Class Setup
The rest of the MP5 Backup class is good for all-round gameplay. It’s also very fun to hack people’s Field Upgrades and counter their Lethal Equipment. It works as a great troll class in bigger games modes such as Combined Arms.
- Secondary: MP5
- Perk 1: Flak Jacket
- Perk 2: Assassin
- Perk 3: Spycraft
- Lethal: Frag
- Tactical: Stuns
- Field Upgrade: Proximity Mine
- Wildcard: Law Breaker
Class 2 – All About Speed
The second QBZ class setup we recommended is geared towards those that want max speed. It can be used very effectively by rushers. Load the attachments below onto the weapon:
QBZ-83 Gunsmith:
- Tiger Team Spotlight
- Infiltrator Grip
- 40 Round Speed Mag
- Speed Tape
- Raider Stock
Class Setup
The rest of the class is geared toward speed and aggression. This is why we have Stimshot and C4’s equipped. Stimshot will help you hop back into the gunfights quicker. Double C4 is great for rushers who like to be aggressive. They’re very effective especially for clearing flags and other objectives.
- Secondary: 1911
- Perk 1: Tac Mask
- Perk 2: Scavenger
- Perk 3: Ninja
- Lethal: C4
- Tactical: Stimshot
- Field Upgrade: Field Mic
- Wildcard: Danger Close
Class 3 – Balls Deep
The third and last class for the QBZ is the Balls Deep class. Prepare for crazy firepower but slower speeds. This weapon is more like an out of control LMG. Equip the following attachments onto the QBZ:
QBZ-83 Gunsmith:
- Kobra Red Dot
- Agency Suppressor
- 15.5” Task Force
- Ember Sighting Point
- Field Agent Grip
- SALVO 50 Round Fast Mags
- Airborne Elastic Wrap
- Raider Stock
Class Setup
It wouldn’t be a Balls Deep class setup without Molotov cocktails and Smoke grenades to annoy your enemy and wreak havoc around the B flag. Throw on the Assault Pack too, you’re going to need it.
- Secondary: Magnum
- Perk 1: Tac Mask
- Perk 2: Tracker
- Perk 3: Ghost
- Lethal: Molotov
- Tactical: Smoke Grenade
- Field Upgrade: Assault Pack
- Wildcard: Gunfighter
