MW Headquarters Locations and Rotations Top Tips

UPDATE: 01/28/2020: Headquarters does not have a predictable spawn location. The HQ will spawn randomly. We will keep this post up as there are good tips on how to play Headquarters below.

However, if you play Hardpoint. Check out our guide on the Hardpoint Locations and Rotations for every map in Modern Warfare.

Headquarters is a competitive and fastpaced game mode in Call of Duty Modern Warfare. The goal of the game is to capture the headquarters as they spawn. When the headquarters is captured, your team will receive one point for every second the headquarters is captured.

Once a team has the headquarters captured, respawning is disabled. The enemy must take out all players and destroy the headquarters. When the headquarters is destroyed a new HQ will spawn in another location on the map.

Modern Warfare Headquarters Top Tips

Headquarters is a fast-paced game mode. However, slowing down and taking your time is crucial if you want to start winning more games.

Game the Objective

The headquarters takes 15 seconds to spawn and a further 30 seconds to go online. Meaning it is ready to capture. Don’t just run like a headless chicken into the HQ. The headquarters are normally bombarded with grenades and flashbangs/concussion. Patrol the areas around the headquarters until it is online. Only until it’s online should you make a push to capture it.

Best Perk Selection

Perks are an important aspect of all game modes. Just using any perk won’t cut it if you want to succeed in Headquarters. From Perk 1, the recommended attachments are E.O.D. or Scavenger. We would prioritize E.O.D. because the HQ will get bombarded with nades.

Therefore, it’s best to be extra protected. The second best from perk 1 is Scavenger because it enables you to pick up ammo from dead players. This will come in handy if you survive long enough to hold the HQ and move onto the next one.

In Perk 2, the perk we recommend to use is Hardline. This will help you get your killstreaks in one less kill. Killstreaks are important in Headquarters which we will discuss in the next tip. The second best perk to use from Perk 2 is Restock. This allows you to recharge your equipment every 30 seconds. This is great to have if you go on a killstreak but run out of flashes or grenades.

Moving on to Perk 3, Battle-Hardened or Shrapnel is the go-to. If you are attacking the HQ. Use Shrapnel. This way you will have an extra piece of lethal equipment. In addition, the enemies’ health regeneration will be delayed by your lethal damage. However, if defending, Use Battle Hardened, this perk protects you from the enemy, stun, flash and EMP grenades. Great for when you are defending the HQ and enemies are bombarding it with tactical grenades.

Best Killstreak Setup

As mentioned before, Headquarters is a fast-paced game mode. Because of this, spawns are quite hectic and it’s difficult to get large killstreaks. As a result, we recommend using nothing past the 7 kills tier. There is not much point because if you are playing the objective. You will be dying often.

The first recommend killstreak is the UAV, this will help you and your teammates get a heads up of where the enemies are spawning from. If you feel you don’t need a UAV, the next best killstreak in that tier is the Care Package. However, it’s pot luck if you get anything good from it.

The second recommended killstreak is the Precision Strike. This will take 5 kills to attain which is doable if you carefully patrol the areas around the headquarters before it is captured. Frankly, any killstreak from the 5 kill tier is great. Having any sort of airstrike at your disposal is great for clearing the HQ of enemies.

The next tier is the 7 kill tier. We recommend the Wheelson because you can fire missiles into the HQ. It’s great for clearing out enemies camping on the objective.

Best HQs Weapon Setup

Choosing a weapon is very subjective and depends on your preference. However, we will make some suggestions to consider when choosing your loadout.

It’s important to keep in mind all-out assault when playing headquarters. On the smaller maps such as Azhir Cave. An SMG is perfect for close-quarter combat. We recommend an extended mag with any weapon you choose. On the bigger maps, use an Assault Rifle such as the M4 or AK47. Again, an extended mag should be prioritized.

In regards to a secondary, a launcher such as the RPG is fun and very useful in clearing out objectives.
