Gaming is one of the most popular pastimes for many around the world, with players all over the planet continuing to spend hours on titles across various niches. It does not matter if it is traditional video games that can be played on consoles or on a PC, or if it is mobile games or iGaming titles such as the bitcoin pokies found at Joe Fortune, gaming is a form of entertainment that almost every single human being continues to enjoy to its fullest.
However, there are some that can be classified as casual gamers, while there are others that can be categorized as hardcore gamers. Indeed, there are some gamers out there who like nothing more than a good challenge. For these players, simply completing a game is not enough. They need to go above and beyond, taking on difficulties that would make even the most seasoned player sweat.
With millions of different types of games to choose from and play nowadays including action games like Modern Warfare or racing sims such as Forza Horizon 5, and with new releases almost on what feels like a daily basis, gamers are not short of options. However, for those that are determined to show off their credentials as the best gamers around, perhaps there are a few games that might truly test them.
Perhaps shockingly, there are a number of gaming challenges that have been incredibly difficult to beat, that very few – if not anyone – have been able to beat them ever before. Let’s take a look at four of those to have existed, with the help of TheGamer!
1. Borderlands
The Borderlands series is well-known for its high difficulty levels, but that did not stop one player from taking things further and trying on a new kind of challenge after witnessing that even the most difficult of challenges was possible to accomplish. Some have been able to complete deathless runs in a single game, however, YouTuber Miqueagul decided to try and take on the ultimate challenge: a permadeath run through all four games in the series. This meant he had to start from scratch in each game and play through to the end without dying once. The challenge is so difficult that it has yet to be completed and it appears to have been put on hold.
2. Clone Hero
Clone Hero is a rhythm game in the vein of Guitar Hero and Rock Band. Unlike those games, however, Clone Hero features a song called “Starmaker” that is virtually impossible to complete. The custom-made song has over 6,000 notes and requires players to hit every single one perfectly in order to achieve a 100 percent full combo. To date, nobody has been able to do it.
3. FromSoftware Games
FromSoftware is the company behind some of the most difficult games of all time, including Dark Souls and Bloodborne. One dedicated player decided to take on the ultimate challenge: beating every FromSoftware game without taking a single hit. ‘God Run 2’ is perhaps the most notable of these challenges to have been conquered, although while that featured Demon’s Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and the Dark Souls trilogy back to back, it did not feature the Elden Ring title. This has set players on the mission of trying to complete a ‘God Run 3’ challenge.
4. Halo Trilogy
The Halo franchise is well-known for its campaign mode difficulties, with many players struggling to even finish the games on anything other than easy mode and perhaps even deciding to quit and choose a free game to play instead. One player, though, decided to up the ante by taking on the Legendary All Skulls On (LASO) challenge in all three Halo games back-to-back. The catch? They had to do it without dying once. This challenge has never been completed.
Final Thoughts
These are just four of the many gaming challenges out there that have never been beaten despite some players have tried their very best to do so. As you can see, they are incredibly difficult, however, that will not stop gamers from trying them and perhaps, someday in the future conquering them. So, if you are feeling up for a real challenge, why not try your hand at one of these? Who knows, you might just be the first person in the world to complete it!
