Each category of weapon takes different ammo variants. We will discuss each weapon including statistics like damage, rate of fire and range. We also discuss various aspects like best attachments for popular weapons and each weapon’s ability to penetrate armor.

The chosen weapon of freedom fighters all over the world. The AKM, also known as the AK47 is a PUBG favorite. It deals a total damage of 47. This means it is a 3 shot to kill AR.
The AKM hails as the king of AR’s in PUBG. It works best with a 4x scope and a compensator or suppressor. The gun deals a maximum damage per round up until 50 meters. So it is best used in close to medium range combat.

The Beryl is a Polish-made Assault Rifle currently used by the Polish Armed Forces. It packs a serious punch at 46 damage per bullet, meaning it kills in 3 shots.
The Beryl has slightly lower damage than other AR’s in its class. However, this is compensated by its high rate of fire. Because of its high rate of fire, attaching a foregrip and or a compensator is recommended.

Groza
The Groza is a Russian Bullpup Assault Rifle used most commonly by Special Operations personnel like Spetsnaz GRU, Russias armed forces. It deals 47 damage per round making it a 3 shot kill AR.
It packs a serious punch with a crazy rate of fire, making it one of the best weapons in the game. However, these stats are balanced by the weapon’s inability to take a foregrip or any sight over a 6x.
It also has a very slow reload speed, taking 3 seconds from an empty mag. Therefore, it is recommended not to empty the mag before reloading.

The Mk47 Mutant is an American made assault rifle manufactured by CMMG. The Mk47 deals 49 damage per shot making it a 2 to 3 shot to kill AR.
Dealing one of the highest damage ranges of all the AR’s. This is balanced by the weapons fire mode. It can only be fired in single-shot or 2 shot bursts. Recommended attachments for the Mk47 are tactical stock or compensator along with a 6x scope or better.

The AUG is a bullpup assault rifle originally made in Austria by Steyr. It is now used by dozens of armed forces around the world including the Irish Army. The weapon deals 41 damage per shot. This makes it a 3 to kill AR.
The AUG can only be found in Airdrops so it is quite rare to come by. If you can manage to make it to the airdrop alive. Definitely snag this weapon. The weapon has fantastic handling combined with a high fire rate. The only downside is the AUGs slow reload speed. However, this can be countered with quickdraw mags.

The G36C is an overall reliable weapon in close to mid-range combat. Attaching a compensator and a 6x Scope will work wonders on this weapon.

The SCAR-L is regarded as an above-average assault rifle in PUBG. It is best equipped with a vertical foregrip and a compensator to increase the weapons overall stability. The Iron sights can be clunky and distracting. Therefore, it is recommended to add a 4x or 6x scope for better aiming.

This assault rifle is an above-average weapon. It is quite similar to the SCAR-L in terms of weapon statistics. Equipped with a compensator and a foregrip, this weapon can be unstoppable in the right hands.

The best feature of this weapon is that it can take the most attachments out of all the AR’s. If you find an M416, modding should be your priority. It destroys with a compensator, foregrip and 4x scope.

The M16A4 is the fourth generation of the M16 assault rifle. The M16 assault rifle and variants are commonly used by military forces throughout the world. It deals 43 damage per round giving it 3 shots to kill damage range.
This weapon is quite a stable weapon with minimal recoil. It can be fired in a single-shot or 3 round burst. The delay between bursts is the same as the delay between single shots. Therefore, firing in 3 round bursts can be very effective if the player becomes adept at using the 3 round burst mode.

The Kar98K is one of the stronger weapons in the game. It can take out players with 1 to 2 shots. The Kar98K can even 1 shot kill a player wearing a level 2 helmet.

The AWM is a bolt action sniper rifle manufactured by a company called Accuracy International. It is a deadly sniper rifle with a damage of 105 per round.
The king of the snipers, the AWM deals with the highest damage per round of any gun in the game. It certainly deserves a spot among the best weapons in PUBG.
It’s so powerful that it can kill players with one shot to the head even if they are wearing a level 3 helmet. Like all sniper rifles, it depends on who is shooting it. If your aim is not good, it won’t be much use to you.

The VSS is certainly one of the lower tier weapons in PUBG. However, it comes with some benefits. It’s integrated suppressor and subsonic ammo makes it difficult to locate where the shots are coming from.

The Vector is a submachine gun developed by the American company, KRISS. It deals 31 damage per round, making it a 4 shot kill SMG.
The Vector has an impressive rate of fire combined with very manageable recoil. The only thing that lets this gun down is its very low magazine capacity at 19 rounds per mag. On the plus side, the Vector can hold the most attachments out of all the SMGs. An extended mag is a necessity on the Vector.

The UMP is a great SMG suitable for close-range combat. The weapon is very manageable even without foregrip. It can be a very viable stealth gun if you attach a suppressor.

The Tommy Gun was developed by John T Thompson in 1918. It was infamously used by various crime syndicates back in the day, such as the Italian Mobs. It has a damage range of 40 per round. This means it takes 3 shots to kill.
The Tommy Gun hails as having the highest damage per round among the SMGs. However, this is balanced with its high recoil and inability to attach a sight.
Recommended attachments for the Tommy Gun are extended mags. Attaching extended mags will give you 50 rounds, up from 30.

This vintage LMG is best used to provide cover support. It comes with a bipod that can be used when the player goes prone. Being a vintage LMG it cannot take any attachments except the 6x scope. Therefore, if you find this weapon. Make sure to attach a 6x if you have one.

The M249 certainly deserves a spot as one of the best weapons in the game. Its high damage coupled with a high rate of fire makes it a killing machine in the right hands.
However, the weapon takes a full 7 seconds to load. That is a lot of time in PUBG. Especially if you are tied up in a gunfight. Reload wisely and cautiously.

SLR
The SLR or Self Reloading Rifle is a British variant of the Belgian FAL. It deals 58 damage per round. It is a 2 shot kill rifle.
The SLR is quite similar to the SKS. However, has some notable differences. The weapon has higher damage and a much higher recoil. On top of this, it cannot take any foregrip attachment. However, it will outdo the SKS in long-range engagements.

Mk14 EBR
The Mk14 EBR is an American made rifle used by Navy SEALS and Delta Force. It deals 61 damage per round meaning its a 2 shot kill rifle.
This DMR is best used in medium to long-range engagements. Its high recoil rate is not suited to close-quarters combat. To counter this players can go prone and use the weapons bipod.
Note, the weapon does have an automatic fire mode which does make it a versatile option.

The Mini 14 is a rifle developed in the by Sturm, Ruger, and Co. It deals 46 damage per round making it a 3 shot kill rifle.
The Mini deals the least damage of all the DMRs. However, it does make up for this with very high muzzle velocity as well as a large mag size. Be careful of the weapon’s slow reload speed.

The Win94, officially known as the Winchester Model 1894 is a famous American hunting rifle. It deals 66 damage making it a 2 shot kill rifle.
This rifle is best used in medium to long-range combat. It is not the best weapon overall. The only attachment available for the gun is bullet loops in order to reload faster.

Sawed-off
The Sawed-off shotgun also referred to as the Lupara, is essentially a shotgun with a shorter barrel. The barrel can be shortened with a saw or manufactured shorter. The Sawed-off deals 22 damage. However, it has quite remarkable damage multipliers in close range. Please see the table below.
This shotgun fits into your handgun slot in-game. So it essentially more a handgun than a shotgun. With that information, it is definitely the most powerful handgun in the game. It is effectively a shorter, compact version of the S686.

The S686 is a hunting shotgun manufactured by Beretta. It deals 26 damage. It also has large damage multipliers. Check the table below.
The S686 has the fastest rate of fire of all the shotguns in the game. It also fires 2 deadly 12-gauge slugs that can be lethal at close range. It can take out an enemy in 1 shot to the head regardless of the helmet level.
The downfalls of the S686 are its slow reload time and very short range. Players can attach a choke to extend the range by up to 5 meters.

The pump-action shotgun can be versatile depending on the attachments the player uses. Using a choke can reduce the spread for longer range engagements. Moreover, a duckbill choke will increase the spread making it more effective in close range combat.

The S12K is a semi-automatic shotgun that is deadly in close range. It can be fired very quickly and packs a punch. It also has the fastest reload speed of all the shotguns because it uses a magazine to feed the chamber.

DBS Shotgun
The DBS Shotgun is a pump-action shotgun that fires two shots at once. It is based on the DP-12 Double Barrel Pump Shotgun by Standard Mfg. Co. LLC. It deals 26 damage up close including multipliers which can be seen below.
The DBS Shotgun was introduced to PUBG in September 2019. Players who like using the S1897 will like this too. Players can attach various sights to the DBS including, 2x to 6x Scopes, Red Dot Sight and Holographic.

The P1911 is an American made pistol. It was used as the standard pistol of the US Army for over 70 years. It deals 41 damage per round meaning it can take out an enemy in 3 shots.
The P1911 is best used in close range engagements. Players will find this weapon most useful with extended mags as the mag size is almost doubled.

Misc weapons
Crossbow
The Crossbow fires lethal arrows that deal 105 damage per shot. It is best used as an opportunist stealth weapon. When using the crossbow, try aiming for the head as the crossbow can take out enemies with 1 shot regardless of head armor.
