Powersliding, Sacred Boost and Reserves Guide: Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is the latest intro to the crash racing series. Its damn good fun, both for serious gamers and casuals alike. In this guide, we will look at how to win more races. We will discuss power-sliding, how reserves work and how to get the game-changing Sacred Boost.

It’s important to remember that there is no set speed in Nitro-Fueled. Fundamentally, you can determine your own speeds. Players can essentially go really slow or super-fast depending on how they play the game. Let’s get right into the guide and explore how to go superfast in Crash Racing.

Powerslide CONSTANTLY

Power sliding is extremely important in Crash Racing. The more you power slide, the faster you go. It’s as simple as that. However, there are more things going on behind the scenes while power sliding. Power sliding also builds up reserves that determine the length of boost you get.

First, let’s make sure you know how to powerslide. To powerslide press either the L1 or R1 button to jump. As you land, turn hard into the direction you’re going. You’re now in a powerslide. You will notice the meter fills up in the bottom right corner. This will determine the amount of boost you get. The more the bar fills, the more boost you get. However, if you overflow the bar, the drift will fail and you won’t get any speed boost.

To use the boost meter, tap the opposite button to the one you’re pressing to powerslide. For example, if you press L1 to powerslide, press R1 to boost and vice versa. You will be rewarded with some extra boost after the drift if you can get 3 boosts in a row.

Powerslide Forward

The key to always going superfast is to learn how to powerslide in a straight line. You do this by going into a powerslide and immediately turning in the opposite direction of the powerslide. You’re essentially counter-steering to stay straight. However, you won’t go completely straight. You will be slightly curved but heading in the right direction.

Building Up Your Reserves

Reserves is the term for boost that builds up and is stored away. As you race, you will go over turbo pads and powerslide. Every time you do this, some of this boost is being stored in your reserves. Your boost reserves kick in when you land from a jump. Notice, your player will shoot forward. This is the reserves working.

Sacred Boost & Ultra Sacred Boost

The more your reserves fill up the more boost you get. This will eventually fill up to what is called Sacred Boost. This can make your character go much faster and for longer. There is an even better boost called Saffy Boost or Ultra Sacred Boost. This will give you the best and longest boost in the game. You will actually be going super insane speeds.

Just remember not to bump into the sides as this will reset your boost reserves.

What to take away from this…

In order to move super fast or even ultra-fast. You need to do a combination of power sliding and driving over turbo pads. Put this knowledge into practice and you will start winning more races in Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled.
